Commuter stuns with incredible cover of hit Shallow, singing 'better than Gaga'

A video of a London commuter singing Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's hit, Shallow, has gone viral after singing it "better than Gaga".

Kevin Freshwater, a British comedian, approached a stranger in the subway and as part of one of his popular challenges and asked her to 'Finish the Lyrics'.

And as the challenge suggests, people then have to finish singing the rest of the lyrics from the song he sang.

When Kevin stopped Charlotte Awbery, he said, "Finish the lyrics!", and started singing part of the song, before holding the microphone in her direction.

As she starts singing, you hear Kevin - who's clearly shocked - say "Wow!" and asked her to "keep going".

At which point she continued to nail the notes of the chorus too.

Although he didn't know at the time, Charlotte happens to be a professional singer songwriter, and has been for quite a while now.

Since the video - which was posted to Facebook by Kevin - went viral with over 13m views, Charlotte's followers on Instagram have also sky-rocketed, gaining thousands in just a few hours.

A number of people have taken to social media to praise Charlotte.

One person said: "This man really found a random person on the street and she sang Shallow better than Gaga ever has, except the time she sang it for the movie, I'm so ashamed..."

Another said: "This woman gained over +100k followers overnight because of this viral video of her singing ‘Shallow’ which is a song from the movie ‘A Star Is Born’..... she is literally a star born".
