RATCHABURI: A community leader has urged police to find and take action against the person who killed and dumped the bodies of five young dogs beside a creek in Muang district.
Paitoon Pattana, head of the Nam Phu Tambon Administration Organisation, said they wewre informed on Saturday night that seven young dogs had been found in distress near Nam Phu creek in Moo 1 village of the subdistrict .
Rescue volunteers and police went to the spot and found five of the animals were dead, with two still alive. All were wet and bedraggled. They believed someone had tried to drown all seven dogs in the creek.
"That person should be punished," Mr Paitoon said. People should spend their time doing good deeds for the community, not drowning animals.
Residents cremated the dead dogs on Sunday at Wat Thung Tarn.
