A woman is celebrating her 100th birthday in a Merseyside care home.
Margaret Garceau, who lives at Elm Tree House in Newton-le-Willows, was born on January 20 1922.
This means Margaret has lived through some of the biggest historical moments of the 20th century, and was 17-years-old when World War 2 broke out.

Due to an outbreak of Covid-19 in the care home, her planned birthday celebrations have had to be cancelled.
As her birthday approaches, the local community have rallied around to help Margaret celebrate, with a member of Elm Tree House staff taking to Facebook to request help to make her 100th birthday special.
The post sparked a massive response, with many people sending cards to Margaret and wishing her well on her big day.
Some local businesses also offered to cater for the celebrations with cakes for the 18 residents of the care home.
Margaret, originally from Bromborough, Wirral, told the ECHO: "I don't know what I'm going to do on my birthday, I haven't made up my mind yet.
"I've lived here for five years and I'm very comfortable, we're very well looked after."
Margaret has a daughter and a grandaughter named Vanessa, who reside on the Wirral.
A tea party will be arranged on Thursday for the birthday celebrations at Elm Tree House, Margaret said: "We're certainly well-fed, we have lovely meals. I'm having a special tea party for my birthday, it'll be lovely. I'm looking forward to that."
