One of Northern Ireland's most important services is seeking volunteers.
The Community Rescue Service, a charitable search and rescue organisation, is attempting to gather volunteers for the South Down area - incorporating the likes of Newcastle, Downpatrick, Ballynahinch and Newry.
They are looking people to join the:
• Search and rescue operations, (bringing loved ones back home)
• Search and rescue support team (giving an hour or two every other month to help raise funds to pay for vital equipment)
A spokesman said: "This will be an informal evening, maximum two hours.
"You might find it's something you’d love to do, or not for you. You only give what time you can give, nothing more.
"We have members who are 18 and members in their mid-60s. I have been asked often about being able to swim, it is not a per-requisite that you can swim, I do not want any of the team to ever enter the water.
"We search for missing, vulnerable and high risk people on land and in a select number of our rivers."
