Community left devastated after sudden death of 21-year-old man from Swansea

Tributes have been paid to a 21-year-old man from Swansea after his sudden death.

Levi Edwards, of Brynhyfryd , died on Sunday, September 1.

The young man was very popular and, among others, played for the local football team, The Plough Colts AFC.

His club paid tribute to him on social media: "We have lost one of our own.

"A Plough boy since he was young, Levi was always an enthusiastic and happy kid with great talent.

"He wasn’t just a great kid on the pitch but off it he had a heart of gold.

"He loved his mates as much as his mates loved him!

"Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this tragic time.

"We will truly miss you boy."

Imad Khalid, of Trimology Barbers, in Llangyfelach Road, said Mr Edwards was a beloved customer as well as a very close friend of his brother Heirish.

Mr Khalid added: "Levi came every week for a trim - he always wanted to look sharp.

"He was a very loving and caring person, always had a smile on his face and would do anything for anyone."

Mr Khalid said Mr Edward's death had had a huge impact on the whole community, which showed how loved and adored he was.

The barber shop has been raising funds for Mr Edwards funeral and, so far, £350 have been raised.

Two local businesses have paid tribute to the young man (Google Maps)

Kushwant Singh, landlord of the Plough & Harrow  in Llangyfelach Road, said Mr Edwards was a regular customer of the pub as he played for the local football team.

He said: "Levi was a very popular and loved young man.

"He was an excellent footballer and was committed to his club."

Mr Singh said Mr Edwards was very well-liked in the community and that they were expecting up to 300 people to attend a memorial event in the pub on Saturday.

"He was a good member of the community and will be sadly missed," he added.

Many tributes have been paid to the young man on social media as well.

Nicky O'Connor wrote: " I still can’t get my head around it.

"It hurts to think you’ll never hear his voice or his laugh ever again.

"We will all miss you boy, until we meet again.

"Sleep tight my friend."

Rico Thompson wrote: "So so sad to hear Levi Edwards has left us.

"Literally mental health is such an important thing.

"Leaves us all with a hole in our hearts."
