Community launch fundraiser after young boy with Asperger’s has bike stolen

A child has been left without his favourite bike, after it was stolen from his garden during the early hours of this morning.

The orange Carrera Vengeance type mountain bicycle was taken from the Old Westland Road area of North Belfast at around 2.40am on Saturday.

Police say three males were observed at the address around that time and made off with the bike.

A Tennent Street officer said: "The bike is similar to the one pictured, its had the seat lowered by having the bar cut underneath the seat, is missing a rear reflector and has silver coloured dust caps front / rear.

"If anyone has any further information that may assist police in relation to this incident please contact us on 101 quoting Police reference 1366 of 09/05/2020."

Family and friends have now come together to buy a new bike, and have asked for any donations to be made through HERE.
