Community fundraising campaign set to help Clydebank family after tragic death of baby girl

A community crowdfunding campaign has been set up to help the family of a baby girl who died after falling from a flat window.

Lexi Bergene, one, was rushed to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow in a critical condition last Wednesday, but tragically later died.

The incident unfolded on Wednesday afternoon when the baby fell from the third floor flat window on Dumbarton Road, near to Boquhanran Road, Clydebank.

Inquiries are ongoing, however there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.

The little girl's family have been left 'devastated' by the loss, and now kind-hearted locals are fundraising to help with funeral costs and other expenses.

Chris Rice and his fiancée, Ashley Murray, have set up a Go Fund Me page to help in anyway possible.

He told Glasgow Live: "My mum is a neighbour of the little girl's family.

"We laid some flowers as a mark of respect and I hope this can help just that bit more.

"We are heart broken just like everyone else in the community."

The goal is to raise £1,000 and so far over £600 has been raised in a few days.
