A community food larder opened this month in Stewarton to make sure no one goes hungry in the area.
Stewarton Community Larder is to help people who are struggling to put food on the table in the town.
Potter’s House Church in Stewarton will run the larder every Saturday from 10am to 12noon.
It is to help people on low incomes or recovering from crisis by offering dignity and choice in exchange for a small yearly membership fee. Cutting food costs means people are better able to manage other debts and outgoings.

The church has been providing food on a regular basis each Monday night to people in need through Fareshare and neighbourly initiatives. Without a building of their own, the local community centre offered the larder a space to continue with this project during the pandemic.
They also offered a storage space which has now been converted into a community larder.
The larder is open every Saturday between 10am and 12noon at The Centre, Standalane, Stewarton.
Information on debt, housing application forms, universal credit will be available as needed.
People looking to support the larder can bring food such as tinned and dried foods, long-life products and similar to The Centre, Standalane on a Monday evening from 7.30pm until 9pm.
Basic toiletries and household cleaning products are also welcome.
