Community and voluntary groups in North Lanarkshire asked to bid for regeneration projections

Community and voluntary groups in North Lanarkshire are invited to bid for funding for local regeneration projects.

North Lanarkshire Council would like to hear from groups with ideas for community-led projects to tackle deprivation and disadvantage among residents.

The council will then work with groups to apply to the Scottish Government’s Regeneration Capital Grant Fund (RCGF) which supports place-based regeneration projects.

“The RCGF offers opportunities for local communities to take forward ideas to improve their area for the benefit of residents,” said Councillor Allan Graham, convener of the enterprise and growth committee.

“Last year we secured £1.7 million for a new community music and learning hub in Motherwell and £790,000 for a new community hub in Shotts, and we have previously received funding for community centres in Forgewood and Glenboig.”

The next round of RCGF applications is expected to open in April so any local organisation interested in submitting a bid should visit www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/RCGF to complete a form or email growthteam@northlan.gov.uk.
