Experts are suggesting a very simple fix for a bad night’s sleep as many people suffer from broken rest and avoidable injuries due to the same error.
Overloading the bed with pillows is causing issues for thousands of people, according to one website.
Decorating our beds with extravagant pillow displays could leave us with neck cricks, twisted spines, and poor blood circulation.

Levon Hall of online bedroom furniture retail website www.bedkingdom.co.uk, said: “Sleep is one of the most important parts of our daily routine and we need good quality sleep to keep the body and mind fit and healthy.
“The quality is every bit as important as the quantity, and even the most minor mistakes in our bedtime habits can make a big difference. When it comes to pillows, less is more as too many pillows could make your spine curve upwards.
“One or two good quality pillows is all you should need to make sure your head is properly supported and allow you to have a restful sleep.”
Bedtime experts at the Sleep Council recommend trying out different pillow options to find the one that will give you the perfect night’s sleep.
Its website states: “If possible you should try out the pillow (or pillows) on a bed where you can lie down on your side.
“Ask someone to check if your neck and upper back are in a straight line. The pillows should be tucked well into the neck and shoulder to support the head fully.
“It is a matter of personal choice whether you prefer to achieve the correct head and neck support with one or more pillows – but they should be able to retain their shape and give you constant support throughout the night.”
