Commercial Street covered in grain after lorry spills load all over busy Leith road

Commercial Street in Leith is currently covered in grain after a lorry spilled its load all over the busy road.

The vehicle, which was travelling north west towards the traffic lights at North Junction Street, has come to a stop in the Shore area, near the Barologist pub, with a big pile of grain (or similar) piled up on the road.

However it appears the spillage started as far back as the Sainsbury's shop on Bernard Street as it can be seen all along the road for more than 100 metres.

As of 1.30pm the road was covered and cars were moving slowly in the area.

Edinburgh Travel News took to social media to say that the road is likely to be "slippy" for the time being, so motorists should take care. They add that hold-ups are to be expected in both directions.
