HYDERABAD: After continuous spike in fuel prices for the past 10 days, now LPG commercial cylinders have become costlier.
The cost of a 19-kg commercial cylinder has climbed to Rs 2,460 in state capital on Friday. Earlier on March 1, the rate of a 19-kg commercial cylinder was increased by 105 and then on March 22, its price was reduced by 9.
However, there has been no change in the cost of the domestic gas cylinder. A 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder now costs 1,002 in Hyderabad, after the prices were hiked on March 23.
With the recent increase of the price of commercial LPG gas cylinders, over 1 lakh consumers using these cylinders in hotels, restaurants and street food joints, are facing fresh trouble. Even as they are just recovering from business loss after the Covid third wave, the gas price hike has come as a bolt from the blue for them.
“With the price rise of commercial cylinders, edible oils and essential commodities without having any choice, we will be forced to increase prices of items,” few hotel owners told TOI.
