Commentator hits almighty note in calling home thrilling finish to Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown

The dramatic finish to the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown on Friday produced one of horse racing's most memorable commentaries.

Veteran race caller Jerry Hannon hit a note seldom heard at the racetrack when Roaring Bull came out of the clouds to win the valuable handicap chase.

It looked like Paul Nolan's Fitzhenry had came late to see off Plan of Attack to the delight of favourite backers, but Roaring Bull came from nowhere to swoop to the lead in the dying strides.

Hannon, a voice synonymous with Irish racing, showed he has lost none of his enthusiasm for the sport as the late charge saw him hit a very high note that had social media in awe.

Indeed, many were concerned that Hannon had got too excited only for the Kerryman to reassure his fans on Twitter, writing: "All is well mo chairde".

Racing at Leopardstown continues today with the Grade 1 Savills Chase the highlight - Hannon, of course, will be calling them home once again.
