Comment from Google on what the problem is with Gmail, Youtube and more services

Google have said they are "aware" of some problems with their services this afternoon.

Gmail, Youtube and a host of other apps offered by the internet giant are down for users in Ireland and across the world.

Some services have now resumed but there are still issues with a lot of sites.

Google said on their work dashboard site: “We’re aware of a problem with Gmail affecting a majority of users. The affected users are unable to access Gmail. We will provide an update by 12/14/20, 12:12 PM detailing when we expect to resolve the problem."

People are being greeted with error messages and are unable to load their emails or any other applications.

Many have taken to social media to ask if everyone else is experiencing the same problem.

On social media user said: "Is @gmail down for anyone else? Both my personal and work accounts are giving 502s."
