Commanders TE Logan Thomas talks Chase Young’s comments

Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas has been with the team since 2020. Thomas signed with Washington that March and one month later, the Commanders drafted Ohio State defensive end Chase Young No. 2 overall in the 2020 NFL draft.

Last week, Washington traded Young to the San Francisco 49ers for a 2024 NFL draft compensatory selection.

Earlier this week, Young spoke to the San Francisco media and made headlines with the following comments:

“The vibe is a lot different,” Young said. “I definitely know that I’m in a building with winners.”

Young then mentioned the culture, from the players, the locker room and the coaches.

Head coach Ron Rivera was asked about Young’s comments this week and took the road, saying he appreciated Young and wished him nothing but the best.

This week, reporters spoke to Thomas, and he, too, was asked about Young’s comments.

“We’re pretty busy in this building here,” Thomas said, per Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post.

“You know, if that’s how he feels, that’s how he handles it, that’s how he says it, sure. We know that he’s got love for all of us over here, and we got love for him. We wish him nothing but the best of luck……..If they go out and do their thing and they play well, I’ll be happy for them………but we feel good about what we’re doing.”

That is an excellent response from Thomas, showing true leadership. He holds no ill will toward Young and supports his teammates and coaches at the same time.

The Commanders and 49ers meet on New Year’s Eve at FedEx Field.
