The Washington Commanders are leaving no stone unturned in their search for offensive line help in the 2023 NFL draft.
Washington visited with several offensive linemen at the Senior Bowl and NFL combine, and met with others via Zoom while hosting some on top 30 visits.
Most mock drafts have the Commanders going with a combination of offensive line and cornerback in the first two rounds. And judging by Washington’s pre-draft work, that appears to be an accurate projection.
Tyler Steen, a 6-foot-6, 321-pound offensive tackle from Alabama, recently visited the Commanders. Steen played four seasons at Vanderbilt before spending his final season with the Crimson Tide.

A former defensive lineman, Steen moved to the offensive line in 2019 and improved each season. He finished his career as the starting left tackle for Alabama. That’s not a bad career progression and offers an encouraging view of Steen’s ability to continually improve.
Steen could be a middle-round option for the Commanders.
