Things are looking up for the Washington Commanders. Last month, a group led by Josh Harris was approved by the NFL as the new owners of the franchise after 24 years of Daniel Snyder.
Now, the Commanders have announced their first corporate partnership under the new ownership group. The Commanders and Verizon agreed on a partnership that would make Verizon the “official 5G network of the Washington Commanders.”
Washington president Jason Wright released the following statement:
We’re excited to have Verizon join us in this new chapter of Washington Commanders football. Football is back in the DMV, and Verizon will help improve the experience at FedExField for fans, players and coaches. We are thrilled to welcome Verizon as an official partner of the team.

It’s been a whirlwind month for Harris, who agreed to buy Washington for $6.05 billion. He’s been treated as a hero by Washington fans, appeared at multiple training camp practices to take pictures and sign autographs with fans and continues to say all the right things about turning the franchise around.
Fans are excited, and it’s showing. The Commanders have already surpassed all ticket and suite revenue from last season, and the 2023 season hasn’t even begun.
The partnership with Verizon will lead to improvements at FedEx Field, something Harris has mentioned as an immediate priority. It’s the first sponsorship deal with a mobile carrier for the Commanders in years.
