Coming to Amazon Prime Video UK in August 2021: All the TV shows and movies to look out for

Many new releases are coming to Amazon Prime Video in the coming months, with August's offerings including some of the best in classic cinema and new TV.

From classic films like Jaws and Aliens to new TV like Modern Love and City Confidential, there is plenty to keep you renewing your Amazon subscription.

A vast amount of content is already available on Amazon Prime Video , and they are currently offering a 30-day free trial if you aren't already signed up.

New to Amazon Prime Video UK in August 2021

Jaws - August 1st

We're going to need a bigger boat.

Featuring what is possibly the most sinister two-note soundtrack combination in movie history, the film that kept you out of the water comes to Amazon early in the month.

Will those teeth look just as scary over 45 years later? Yes. Yes, they will.

City Confidential (Season 1) - August 1st

For true crime fans, City Confidential not only gives you your dose of interest and intrigue but sets the cases it features in the context of the history and culture of the cities that the crimes occurred in, promising for an even more fascinating watch.

Aliens - August 1st

Set 57 years after the first film takes place, James Cameron's sequel see's Sigourney Weaver once again step into the role of Office Ripley.

Originally released in 1986, this film still stands up today as a fantastic Sci-Fi/Thriller packed with tension, action and jump scares.

Modern Love (Season 2) - August 13th

The hotly anticipated sequel to the successful first series is released slightly later in the month, but still features an incredible all-star cast that includes Anne Hathaway, Dev Patel, Tina Fey and many more.

The show is based on a popular New York Times column and explores love and human connection in all its forms.

Evan Almighty - August 16th

If you're looking for something funny and familiar to put on in August, then you can't go too far wrong with Steve Carrell's hilarious portrayal of congressman Evan Baxter.

Guaranteed laughs and family-friendly fun make this an ideal comfort watch over the summer.

The Courier - August 27th

If you're looking for something new to check out, Benedict Cumberbatch stars in this historical spy film about a British businessman deputised by MI6 to deliver messages to a secret agent.
