Comic Jason Manford tells GMB ‘awful’ moment an audience member had heart attack at his gig

Jason Manford has spoken of his shock when an audience member had a heart attack while he was performing on stage.

The Salford-born comic told Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard on Good Morning Britain that he had to cut the Newcastle gig short when a woman in her 40s collapsed.

The 37-year-old said thankfully the woman was ok, and he went to visit her in the ambulance where she was recovering.

And of course, he couldn’t resist cracking a joke.

“Bless her, yes she collapsed,” he said. “It was awful at the time. We obviously had to finish the show and she went to the ambulance and I popped in to see if she was alright, and she was fine, she was alive.

“She was only young, she was only in her 40s. It was about quarter to 10, the show finishes at 10 anyway, and I said if you’d have done it 20 minutes earlier I could have made it to see the latest Marvel film.

“She laughed and said, ‘don’t make me laugh again!’ I said, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.
