Comic Con Liverpool confirms Saved by the Bell star has dropped out of this year's event

Comic Con Liverpool has announced actor Mark Paul Gosselaar has been forced to drop out of this year's event.

The actor, who is known for playing Zach Morris in Saved by the Bell, was due to arrive in the city when the event returned in March 2020.

Comic Con Liverpool's took to Facebook this afternoon to confirm the news as well as confirming anyone who had paid for an autograph and photograph would be fully refunded.

The statement said: "We're really disappointed to announce that unfortunately Mark Paul Gosselaar cannot attend the event due to new filming commitments.

"We've just been informed that he is now working on the new Saved by the Bell Reunion show as well as another TV commitment.

"We are speaking to Mark and his agent about rescheduling for 2021 - subject to film commitments. And also seeing if we can put a cast reunion together!

"Autograph and Photograph refunds will be processed automatically from today.

"Depending on your bank it can take 5-7 days to appear back in your account. If you don't receive it within that time then please contact Ticket Quarter (it usually means the card you paid with has since expired)."

It's not all bad news for fans of the actor as in the announcement the team confirmed that a Saved By The Bell Reunion is in the making.

Stranger Things star David Harbour , Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood and Melissa Joan Hart who played Sabrina the Teenage Witch are all still attending this year's Comic Con Liverpool.

Liverpool Comic Con returns to the Exhibition Centre on March 6 to 8, 2020.
