Comedy horror series Wreck filmed in Northern Ireland coming to BBC next month

A new comedy slasher series filmed in Northern Ireland is set to dock at BBC in October.

Wreck, written by Ryan J. Brown and directed by Northern Irish director Chris Baugh, is a hilarious new thriller show set aboard a cruise ship with elements of 'Scream', 'Evil Deal' and 'Cabin in the Woods'.

Coming to BBC Three on October 9, filming locations include Lost City Golf in Belfast, SS Nomadic and the former Michelin tyre factory in Ballymena acting as the interior of the cruise ship.

A description from Northern Ireland Screen reads: "Wreck is a tense thriller, mixing comedy with a slice of slasher, set aboard The Sacramentum cruise ship. The series follows 20-year-old new recruit, Jamie, as he infiltrates the 3,000-strong crew in a desperate race to find his missing sister.

"She was working aboard the same vessel on a previous tour and vanished mid charter.

"Jamie is initiated into cruise life and gets a crash course on the tribes within the staff: the theatre kids, the mafias and the low-paid workers. For this overworked and underpaid crew, life below deck can be an odyssey of partying and excess… and they remain oblivious to the bloodthirsty murders taking place on board.

"Jamie is forced to turn detective and uncover the sinister truth."

The series stars Oscar Kennedy (Ladhood) as Jamie, Co Down actress Thaddea Graham (The Irregulars) as Vivian, Jack Rowan (Noughts + Crosses) as Danny, Harriet Webb (I May Destroy You) as Karen and a host of other young talents.

The six-part series will air on BBC 3 on October 9 and will also be available on BBC iPlayer.
