What’s that saying about a good day to bury bad news? Chances are, that if you’re the sort of person who is interested in current affairs, and likes topical satire, you may well have been a bit preoccupied last Thursday, what with the whole general election thing taking up most of the news agenda all day. So you might have missed this “short announcement” from Comedy Central UK about the future of The Daily Show:

COMEDY CENTRAL EXTRA WILL NO LONGER BROADCAST THE DAILY SHOW. THIS IS BECAUSE COMEDY CENTRAL EXTRA IS CURRENTLY MOVING AWAY FROM TALK SHOWS AND FOCUSING ON OTHER GENRES OF COMEDY.

So first Jon Stewart announces he’s leaving The Daily Show, and now UK viewers won’t be able to see it? Moment of zen anyone?
