Comedian Teddy Ray died of 'apparent drowning' at a California home

Comedian Teddy Ray's death was the result of apparent drowning, officials say.

The funnyman was pronounced dead on Friday after being found floating in a pool at a home in Rancho Mirage in California. He was 32 years old.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Office told TMZ that a maintenance worker found a man floating in a pool at 10.am and authorities have since confirmed that Ray - whose real name is Theadore Brown - was the person in question.

They also revealed there were no obvious signs of foul play in connection with the death. It's not clear who owned the home where he was found with officials saying Ray lived approximately 125 miles from the location in Gardena, California.
