Comedian Paddy Raff thanks Belfast crowd after sold-out SSE Arena gig

Belfast comedian Paddy Raff has shown his appreciation to fans after the first of his sold-out gigs at the SSE Arena .

A second date at the venue has been added to satisfy the huge demand for tickets to see the local entertainer, known for his standup and portrayal of Belfast-based characters on social media.

Paddy was joined by his young son Ronan at the end of the gig following a standing ovation from the crowd.

“I can’t put into words just how much I enjoyed last night,” he said in a post on Facebook.

“I’m only starting to get through the countless messages from you all, I’ll get back to them throughout the day but I just want to say thank you all for coming out and making it one of the best nights ever!”

The show, named Me, Myself and Nigel after one of the comedian’s most well-known characters, marked the biggest live date in the West Belfast entertainer’s comedy career so far.

“My son said it was the best night of his life so it was worth all the hard work if only for that.”

“It’ll be 2 years next week since I first picked up the mic and decided to give comedy a crack so getting a standing ovation at an arena in my hometown was beyond my wildest dreams.”

“Thank you all for being part of it. Cannot WAIT to do it again at the end of April.”
