Comedian Josh Berry who is behind 'Bristol Raver' impressions coming to Bristol

A comedian famous for poking fun at Bristol students has announced a gig in a Bristol student heartland.

Josh Berry, who created the Bristol Raver character, will perform on October 30 at the Bristol Improv Theatre in St Paul's Road, Clifton.

The funnyman is known for saying "man can't stop the rave" when lampooning University of Bristol students.

Josh Berry often portrays characters in videos posted on Twitter, where he has 107,700 followers.

Bristol Raver is not mentioned in Berry's advertisement for the show, which looks set to more prominently feature his parodical special adviser, Rafe Hubris (BA, OXON).

The preview reads: "'Josh Berry: Who does he think he is?' will see Josh mock people who went to slightly more prestigious private schools than him for the best part of 45 minutes.

"He’ll also probably do some impressions although he’s eager for everyone to know he’s artistically beyond being just someone who does impressions these days."

The segment of the performance devoted to Rafe Hubris — In Auditorium cum Hubris — promises to tell "the tale of the coronavirus pandemic from the perspective of the Conservative party’s ‘most classic advisor’".

The character "intends to leave the Clapham Riviera to network, relay classic ‘rona’ anecdotes and answer your submitted questions".

Tickets cost £14.50 and should be collected at the box office of the Bristol Improv Theatre from 45 minutes before the start of the show.

The performance will start at 8pm on October 30. You can buy tickets here.
