Comedian Jimmy Carr reveals son, two, has never watched TV and worries it's 'weird'

Jimmy Carr has revealed that his two-year-old son has never watched television, just videos of his dad.

The 49-year-old comedian, who hosts 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, has said that he's stopped his son, Rockefeller, from watching TV until he is older and is hoping to hold out with this as long as he can.

The only time that the toddler has had any screen time has been when he FaceTime's his dad while he's touring or when he sends videos.

When asked whether Rockefeller watches TV, Jimmy said: "No, he's never seen TV. He's two. Is that weird?"

He then went on to reveal the only time that his son has sat in front of a screen.

Jimmy continued: "The only thing he seen is videos of me, like if I've got a gig and he's going to bed, we'll do a little FaceTime at bed.

"Hopefully by the time we ease TV in he'll just go 'I'm not interested, my dad seems to present everything'."

Jimmy said that he won't be encouraging his son to follow his footsteps and become a stand-up comic.

The comedian said: "I'd love him to follow in my footsteps but not necessarily into comedy. Into whatever makes his heart sing.

"Whatever that thing is that just makes him go 'oh, I'm so happy doing this'. If you get to find that thing where you live to work and not work to live, that's for me incredible. Who wouldn't want that for their kid."

Jimmy and partner Karoline Copping kept their baby boy a secret until earlier this year - and only revealed his distinctive name this month.

And while he could be nicknamed Rock or Fella, they opt for the full name like New York landmark The Rockefeller Centre.

Speaking to the Parenting Hell podcast, Jimmy said: "It's an unusual name. I've always like surnames as first names.

"We go Rockefeller. I always liked Fella, I think it's a lovely thing. People always go with the Rock thing but actually Fella's a great name. Alright Fella - brilliant."
