Comedian Jim Davidson to be questioned by police over claim he racially abused train attendant

Comedian Jim Davidson will be questioned by British Transport Police over a claim he racially abused a black train attendant.

Mr Davidson told The Sun that a row at Euston station in London had taken place but denied it was a racial incident.

The Generation Game presenter claims that the train attendant was white South African.

The 66-year-old said: “I wasn’t racist and the man was white.

“I’ve spoken to the police and told them what happened.

“I didn’t know they wanted to speak to me again. It is a joke. I was not racist.”

Mr Davidson claimed the row, which happened last October, began after the attendant would not let him on a train without his older person's rail pass.

British Transport Police said in a statement: "British Transport Police are aware of a report of racial abuse on board a Virgin Trains service travelling to Milton Keynes Central."

The force confirmed to the Standard: "We are interviewing him."
