Shocking footage shows a comedian being punched in the face by a heckler after he poured beer over his head in front of a gobsmacked audience.
The disgruntled audience member repeatedly jibed at Alex Williamson as he performed a live stand-up set in Rockhampton, Australia.
The funnyman ignored his first few interruptions before asking him to leave but the heckler refused.
He continued to taunt Alex so the comedian hit back by pouring the beer over his head, LadBible reported.
The enraged heckler stormed over to the stage and Alex said he was expecting a war of words but instead he threw a punch at the comedian which forced his head to jolt back.

Alex explained the clash on his Instgram story, saying: "I thought 'oh he's just gonna pour his beer back on my head, that's only fair'.
"So, I offered the mic as kind of a peace offering, like there's the mic you wanted to say something so bad you lame c***, there you go."

After throwing the punch the heckler was tackled by the crowd before he was threw him out the building as they clapped and cheered.
While an unfazed Alex shouted profanity-littered remarks into the mic as the heckler was kicked out.

Alex uploaded the clip on to his Instagram page on March 23 with the caption: "Punched in the head during live show tonight".
The footage had been viewed more than 314,000 times and attracted almost 3,000 comments.

Marty and Michael, a comedy due, defended Alex saying: "Goes to show a comedy show and can't take a joke."
Another poked phone at the heckler, saying: "What (a) super tough and cool guy."

While a third questioned why the man was at the gig in the first place.
He commented: "Imagine paying for tickers and then hating it this much."
This is not first time Alex has clashed with a heckler as it was reported he had a heated row with one on stage in Adelaide last year.
A beer bottle is said to have been thrown at him at that show.
