Comedian Hannah Gadsby announces London dates for new show Douglas

Comedian Hannah Gadsby has announced UK dates for the global tour of her new show, with two gigs in London.

The Australian comedian brings her stand-up show, Douglas, to the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall on October 25 and 27.

She will also tour the show, inspired by her dog, to Oxford, Edinburgh, Manchester, Glasgow and Brighton.

Her Edinburgh Comedy Award-winning show Nanette, which she said was her exit from the world of comedy, took the Fringe by storm in 2017 and overturned the conventions of stand-up comedy. She went on to perform it around the world, with many hailing it a genre-defining piece of work.

Reviewing Nanette in 2017, the Standard’s Bruce Dessau praised the show, saying: “Gadsby employs her formidable performance skills to visit very challenging, provocative places. It is not easy listening, particularly for men, but it definitely makes its mark.”
