Bernard O’Shea has tipped Jennifer Zamparelli to become the first ever female presenter of The Late Late Show.
Following the news that his TV wife will be leaving him behind to branch out with her own 2fm show this summer, Bernard said Jennifer is a strong contender to take over from Ryan Tubridy when the time comes.
The comedian, who has worked with Jennifer regularly since their days on Republic of Telly told TV Now: “I’m just waiting for a phone call from her to see when I’m joining her. I still haven’t got that call yet.
“She’s no idea. She’ll go in on her first day and go ‘I’m missing something, I’m missing something..and it will take her two or three years to figure it out but it will be me.”

The Bridget and Eamon star added: “Ah no, I’m delighted for her. She’s always had a good opinion, she’s always been very listenable and as a good punter, I’m looking forward to hearing her show when i’m in the car driving. It’s a brilliant opportunity.
“It doesn’t get much bigger really. Next stop, The Late Late Show. I think she genuinely probably could be the first female presenter of it.
“We never really talk politics on Breakfast Republic, obviously, but she’s very strong on the political front.”
Speaking ahead of his own new show, Marty & Bernard’s Big Adventure, Bernard, who has been absent from 2fm’s Breakfast Republic recently revealed he has been bogged down adjusting to life as a dad of three.

Bernard, his wife Lorna and their two kids Olivia and Tadhg welcomed new addition Sean just before Christmas.
Hinting about his return to the airwaves, he said: “We had to stay home with the little baby for a while. We are snowed under with number three.
“They all say, ‘ah three…’ but you really can’t prepare for it. It’s very busy with two very busy lives and three little people. Hopefully [I’ll be back] sometime in April.”
