Students wishing to pursue higher education in New Zealand are invited to the virtual "2021 New Zealand Higher Education Showcase", which will take place on Saturday from 10.30am to 2.30pm.
Held for the first time by Education New Zealand and the New Zealand embassy, the virtual event is an opportunity for interested students and parents to watch online presentations and have one-on-one meetings with New Zealand education institutions.
From these meetings, they can find out more about the institutions' current offerings -- both online and in-country options -- and discover what's possible when international students are able to safely return to New Zealand.
Almost 20 institutions will be participating, including eight universities that sit among the world's top 3% of universities according to the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) 2021 Rankings. They are Auckland University of Technology, University of Auckland, Massey University, University of Waikato, Victoria University of Wellington, University of Canterbury, Lincoln University and the University of Otago.
Students can seek out more information about the various scholarships offered by the institutions and find the launch details of Education New Zealand's one-year master's degree programmes available to Thai students that cover fields such as digital business, user experience design, agribusiness, bioscience enterprise, and robotics among others.
Other activities include a simulated classroom on concept design featuring the International Ultimate Concept Artist Award announcement; a virtual exhibition and brochures from all participant institutions; interviews with alumni who are ready to share their success and work experience in New Zealand; and a mini-concert by Phum Viphurit, Asia's 2019 Breakout Musician and also a New Zealand alumni.
