HYDERABAD: A day after TRS working president and minister KT Rama Rao wrote an open letter to BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar alleging gross injustice to Palamuru by the Centre and seek an apology from the people before starting the padayatra, he countered asking chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to come to Palamuru (Mahbubnagar) to debate on irrigation projects and migration issues in the district.
In an open letter to the CM, the BJP state president said that in the past eight years of TRS rule, none of the irrigation projects have not been completed due to the negligence and resorting to false propaganda by painting a rosy picture. He said migration from Palamuru district still continues and underprivileged are migrating to other parts of the country.
"Your son (KTR) and your party are poisoning the padayatra if it goes on a public campaign with the intention of examining the situation in the backward Palamuru district at the field level and bringing them to the attention of the government," Sanjay said.
The state BJP president reminded KCR had represented Mahbubnagar in 2009 and none of the promises made in the united Mahbubnagar district were fulfilled.
"The government does not seem to care to complete the construction of the Palamuru, Rangareddy, Kalvakurthi embankments, Narayanpeta-Kodangal uplift scheme. There is no distilled water to Palamur through Rajoli Banda. Attempts to take full advantage of schemes like Nettempadu, Bhima and Koil Sagar are not happening," he said.
Sanjay alleged that the TRS government completely failed to protect the interests of Telangana to get its fair stake in Krishna and Godavari river waters. The TRS failed to stop the AP Rayalaseema Upliftment Scheme.
The BJP chief said the BJP is demanding immediate completion of irrigation projects in Pending in Palamuru district and measures to curb migration and provide employment to the people. If the government does not respond, Palamuru people will have to assume that it has decided to continue its discrimination and neglect towards the people, the president said.
