Come Dine with Me put call out for Edinburgh locals to star on new series

Do you fancy yourself a chef in your house but have had no formal training? Come Dine with Me want to hear from you.

The hit Channel 4 show, which was forced to put a halt to filming in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, is returning to your screens.

The producers of the show have put out a casting call for contestants from Edinburgh and Glasgow to apply for the new series

A post on the show's Facebook page read: "Come Dine With Me is looking for budding chefs in Glasgow and Edinburgh...GAUN YERSEL! GIE IT LALDY!"

Past series have seen contestants battle it out as they throw dinner parties for each other in a bid to bag £1,000 and be crowned the winner.

This time around, due to the Covid crisis, episodes will initially be filmed in a "Covid-secure venue" rather than contestants' own homes, according to a statement from MultiStory Media.

Filming will then revert to taking place inside their houses, once government guidelines allow.

In order to apply you must be aged 18 or over and must not be a trained chef.

You must also be a legal resident in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man and be currently living in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.

The closing date for entries is September 10 2021.
