'Come back to haunt us' - Nottingham Forest fans react to latest injury setback

Nottingham Forest could be light of options up front for their crucial Championship clash against West Bromwich Albion.

The Reds make the trip to the Hawthorns for the day’s early game knowing three points will move them into the top two, at least before the chasing pack take to the pitch in the 3pm kick-offs.

Sabri Lamouchi said Lewis Grabban was a doubt for the clash, after missing the midweek defeat to Charlton Athletic.

Tyler Walker deputised for Grabban against the Addicks, but sections of the Forest fans called on Lamouchi to give January signing Nuno da Costa the nod against Albion.

However, that looks unlikely now after the 29-year-old was included in the starting line-up for the under-23s against Crewe on Friday afternoon.

But in the 29th minute, da Costa was forced to depart early due to an unspecified injury, and was replaced by Liam Sole.

Forest fans were quick to react to the news...

@DemussDarren: So Da Costa started for u23s. Grabs is surely fit for tomorrow then.

@False_Alarm_: Watch them announce he's out for the rest of the season. Vellios would've been useful right about now.

@DomT93: Are you kidding me?

@Antonio13111275: Grabban and Da Costa injured means we only have ONE STRIKER available for tomorrow. Walker isn't near the level of Grabban and promotion is looking very doubtful if we don't get our top scorer back soon. #NFFC just didn't strengthen enough in January. It'll come back to haunt us.

@Bvsnffcsg01: As if Da Costa has gone off injured.

@NffcHarryy: Da Costa has come off injured... The last thing we need is an injury prone striker.

robmacmy: Who would have thought we'd be wrapping Tyler in cotton wool mid February? Unbelievable.

BurtonRed: Mighten was missing from the U-23's so I expect he will make tomorrow's bench... may even start unless Ameobi's fit? No way Da Costa would have played today of he was intended to start tomorrow! Sadly, the news that he is injured doesn't surprise me, and un-specified injury sounds even worse? I am still of the opinion that we could have bought better in January? What was wrong with Lyle Taylor? We'd have got him for practically nowt!
