'Come back one day' - Chelsea fans react as Tammy Abraham completes AS Roma transfer

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has completed a permanent move to Jose Mourinho's AS Roma side.

The 23-year-old had been linked to London rivals Arsenal as well as Italian outfit Atalanta but opted to complete a move to the Stadio Olimpico instead, penning a long-term contract with the Serie A side.

Abraham's move ends a 17-year association with the Blues, having joined the youth academy when he was just 6-years-old.

As a youngster the English frontman enjoyed loan spells in England, firing in a whopping 60 goals across three separate loan stints at Bristol City, Swansea City and Aston Villa before returning to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2019.

It was during the 2019/20 campaign that Abraham made a name for himself at the west London club, bagging 18 goals under Frank Lampard's tutelage, including a memorable winner in the dying embers of the game against Arsenal in December 2019.

However, he didn't enjoy the same kind of goal scoring form under Chelsea's current head coach Thomas Tuchel, starting a measly four games under the German's stewardship before he made it clear he wanted to leave the Blues in this transfer window.

Abraham signed a five-year deal with Roma, completing a reported £34million switch to the Italian capital, a transfer that has caused Chelsea fans to flock to social media, wishing their former striker well at his new club. Here is how a select few reacted to the news on Twitter.

@CFCUzair : "Thanks for all the memories Tammy, best of luck."
