Come and have a grow at Ayr and District Flower Show

Come and have a grow if you think you’re hardy enough.

That is the message from the green-fingered committee of the Ayr and District Flower Show.

The schedule of classes has just been published for this year’s event on August 16 and 17.

There are 398 classes to enter in 24 sections. Thirteen classes are for children, with an added class in the fuchsia section.

Beginners and novices are also catered for with 30 classes over a range of sections.

Secretary Irene Yuill said now is the time to get cracking: “Seeds should be sown, plants nurtured and crafty items prepared.

“When you are out walking take your camera or use your phone to capture the perfect image and enter one of the photography classes.”

Irene said: “The show is not only made up of winners.

“It takes everyone who tries to make the displays the public come to see.

“Once you try you might be hooked and enter more next year. This is the perfect way to make new friends.”
