Comcast in talks to sell its ownership in Hulu to Disney

Walt Disney Co.'s CEO said this week the entertainment behemoth was in talks to buy Comcast's minority stake in Hulu, the online streaming service that is home to the hit programs "The Handmaid's Tale" and "Ramy."

"There has been dialogue with Comcast about them possibly divesting their stake," said CEO Bob Iger in a Wednesday earnings call with analysts. "And you can expect that if that were to occur, there probably would be some ongoing relationship as it resulted to programming."

Disney owns 70 percent of Hulu, which was recently valued at $14 billion _ Philadelphia-based Comcast owns the remainder.

On his latest earnings conference call in late April, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts responded obliquely to an analyst's question on whether Comcast would sell its 30 percent with "it's really valuable and we're really glad we own a big piece of it."
