Colwick Country Park 'like Ibiza' as hot weather continues

A country park in Nottingham has been described as "like Ibiza" as people enjoyed this afternoon's hot weather.

Pictures taken at Colwick Country Park on Tuesday, June 8, show a lot of people sitting in the sunshine near the lake.

Temperatures have topped 22C as Nottingham has been treated to a few days of sun which started on Bank Holiday weekend.

As a result, many people have decided to head to the park to lap up the sun, with Colwick proving very popular.

One parkgoer, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "It's like Ibiza at Colwick Park today!

"There must be at least 300 people here.

"There’s lots of young people having barbecues, drinking alcohol, swimming with floats in the lake and playing football.

"It’s the part near the kids play area - it felt like a festival! A bit awkward when you're trying to walk the dogs."

They added a lot of people were wearing swimming costumes to try and top up their tan amid the sunshine.

The hot weather is set to continue, with temperatures staying above 22C for the rest of the week - with the hottest day forecast to be Sunday, June 13, with temperatures peaking at 26C.
