There is a whole lot of football left to be played but if the season ended today, the Indianapolis Colts would sneak into the playoffs as the No. 7 seed in the AFC.
Thanks to the expanded playoff format that goes into effect this season, the Colts would be the final playoff team in the conference. With a 4-2 record, the Colts are currently a game up on the Miami Dolphins (3-3) and Las Vegas Raiders (3-3).

The second half of the season will not be easy for the Colts. They have three games against AFC opponents with records of 5-1 or better (Titans, Ravens, Steelers).
The Colts also have a tough matchup against the Green Bay Packers (5-1) and a Week 14 game against the Raiders which could very well be a determining factor in the final seed for the AFC.
There is still a long way to go before the playoff seeds are determined, and the Colts still have some issues to work out. Among those include getting the offensive line to play consistently, keeping up their playmaking on defense and keeping Philip Rivers in favorable situations.
Coming out of the bye week, the Colts will be traveling to take on the Detriot Lions (3-3) at Ford Field currently as a playoff team. Getting off to a hot start for the second half will be needed as the playoff push begins.
