Colts worked out DL Datone Jones

The Indianapolis Colts worked out veteran defensive lineman Datone Jones on Wednesday, per the NFL transaction wire.

With 2018 second-round pick Tyquan Lewis still working through a lingering knee injury, it seems the Colts are keeping tabs on the free-agent market.

Jones was a first-round pick with the Green Bay Packers in 2013 but failed to live up to expectations. In his four seasons with the Packers, Jones recorded just 9.0 sacks and 16.0 tackles for loss.

Jones also spent time with the San Francisco 49ers (2017), Dallas Cowboys (2017–2018) and most recently the Jacksonville Jaguars before he was released during the roster cuts on Aug. 31.

Jones is 29 years old and has appeared in eight games since the start of the 2017 season.
