Colts work out S Johnathan Cyprien

The Indianapolis Colts may be nearing the end of the offseason training program, but they are still searching for depth players and keeping an eye on the free agent market.

As the Colts reportedly worked out offensive tackle Adam Bisnowaty on Monday, they also reportedly worked out veteran safety Johnathan Cyprien, first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN and confirmed by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The 28-year-old safety has spent his entire career playing against the Colts in the AFC South. He was selected in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of FIU by the Jacksonville Jaguars where he would play through the 2016 season. He has spent the last two years with the Tennessee Titans.

In 70 career games (all starts), Cyprien has recorded 506 tackles (377 solo), 12 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks and two interceptions.

The Colts safety room is one with plenty of question marks. Malik Hooker finally seems fully healthy, but Clayton Geathers had an offseason knee procedure to clean up and issue while Matthias Farley has sat out most of the spring. George Odum and Khari Willis are battling for the depth roles.

It will be something to monitor for the Colts if they wind up bringing in Cyprien or it could just be that they are keeping tabs on players for the future.
