Colts will have the No. 21 overall pick in 2021 NFL draft

It’s official. The Indianapolis Colts will hold the No. 21 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft this offseason as wild-card weekend came to a close on Sunday night.

With the top 24 picks locked in for the first round, the Colts will have some big decisions to make from the No. 21 spot. Even after finishing the season 11-5 and reaching the wild-card round, there are several needs that’s must be addressed this offseason.

The raging debate in Indy will be what to do with the quarterback position. Even if they re-sign Philip Rivers, who isn’t sure of his return yet, there is the chance they sell the house to move up for a potential future quarterback.

They won’t have a chance at Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence or Ohio State’s Justin Fields while BYU’s Zach Wilson may go too soon for them to trade up. But moving up for North Dakota State’s Trey Lance is always a possibility.

But then there is the other side of the coin. The Colts may need to find a left tackle sooner rather than later. Anthony Castonzo is in the final year of his contract and coming off of season-ending ankle surgery. Do they try to lock in the left tackle spot with their first-round pick?

There is also a lot of help needed from the edge and the cornerback positions, which are two spots that are always on the table for general manager Chris Ballard.

It should be a fun offseason of debating what the Colts should and will do, but now we know where Indy will be selecting from during the first round of the draft.
