Colts vs. Titans: Staff picks and predictions for Week 13

The Indianapolis Colts (6-5) are on the road for a Week 13 matchup against the Tennessee Titans (4-7) on Sunday at Nissan Stadium.

The sportsbooks have the Colts sitting as slight road favorites and the experts around the league are mostly siding with Indy taking a victory against their AFC South opponent.

Here’s how the Colts Wire staff sees this Week 13 matchup shaking out:

It doesn’t matter what the records say. This game is likely going to be a physical matchup through and through. Mike Vrabel always seems to have the Titans ready to go when they play the Colts. This matchup should be no different.

While the Colts are certainly the better team on paper, the absence of Grover Stewart might be the X-factor. He was available in Week 5 when the Colts bottled up Derrick Henry in a 23-16 win. But Stewart is serving the final game of his six-game suspension. If the Colts can somehow limit Henry’s output, then they will come away with a road win.

The advantage the Colts have is the fact that Michael Pittman Jr. and Josh Downs give them an edge in the passing game, and their superiority in the red zone this season can make all the difference.

Henry will do his job finding the end zone twice, but the Colts are able to hold off the Titans on a final drive with a forced turnover against rookie Will Levis.

The Indianapolis Colts are looking for their first win in Nashville since 2020 and sweeping the Tennessee Titans for the first time since 2018. Things get off to a slow start in the first half with both offenses struggling to move the ball and when they do, get it in the endzone to finish drives.

The Indy defensive front constantly gets after Will Levis in this one and finally get home when Dayo Odeyingbo gets a strip-sack to spark the offense for their first touchdown of the game.

The Titans fight back with Derrick Henry breaking some explosive runs in the second half that help set up a couple touchdown drives. The Colts are able to get the ball back with time to get in field goal range and Matt Gay drills his kick for the game-winning score

The Titans may be undefeated at home, but the Colts are 4-1 on the road. For whatever reason, they seem to find a way to get things done away from home base. They have another opportunity to grab a gritty road win this week with a Titans defense that is giving up nearly a 68% completion percentage to opposing quarterbacks. Indy will have to do it without Jonathan Taylor boosting the offense, but they have plenty of options to attack like Michael Pittman Jr and Alec Pierce, who is due for a breakout game. Gardner Minshew has to protect the football at all costs to give the Colts a chance at a season series sweep.

On paper, this Colts team is better coached and is more talented. The lack of being able to stop the run will keep this game close, but ultimately talent and coaching will shine through and Indy will continue their winning streak.
