Colts vs. Patriots: Staff picks and predictions in Week 10

The Indianapolis Colts (4-5) are set to take on the New England Patriots (2-7) for a Week 10 matchup at Frankfurt Stadium in Germany.

The sportsbooks have the Colts sitting as slight favorites and the experts around the league are mostly siding with Indy taking a victory overseas.

Overseas games are always difficult to predict. There are so many factors including the leftover jet lag players are dealing with after taking the red eye Thursday night.

While the Colts have had their share of issues, the Patriots have been arguably the worst team in the AFC, and their record shows it. They lack explosiveness on the offensive side of the ball, and the secondary has major question marks, especially in the corneback room.

The two offensive studs for the Colts in Jonathan Taylor and Michael Pittman Jr. take over while DeForest Buckner comes through with another big game. The defense does enough to keep Mac Jones at bay, forcing two turnovers en route to a close victory heading into the bye week.

The Indianapolis Colts open up their first Germany game with a game-opening touchdown drive that is left behind an efficient passing attack with Gardner Minshew.

This helps set up the rushing attack with Jonathan Taylor. The star back gets explosive plays on the ground throughout the game that help set up a couple more touchdown drives.

The New England Patriots offense finds a rhythm with Mac Jones in the second half to make this come down to the wire but Kwity Paye gets a timely strip-sack to close out the game for Indianapolis.

The Colts are still dealing with injuries, but they are figuring out ways to win. I like them this week to get creative against a New England team that has been up and down. Gardner Minshew will have to protect the football and trust his playmakers. If he can do that, he can exploit the Patriots and lead the Colts to victory.

New England continues to struggle in all aspects, especially offensively. I see the Colts getting some points off of some timely NE turnovers.
