Colts vs. Jaguars: Staff picks and predictions in Week 17

The Indianapolis Colts (10-5) are preparing to host the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-14) on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium for their regular-season finale.

While Vegas has the Colts as the biggest favorites of the week and the experts around the league are siding with an Indy win, it’s time for the Colts Wire staff to make their picks for the week.

Here’s a look at how we see the game shaking out

Kevin Hickey (@KevinHickey11): Colts 28, Jaguars 13

Though this could be viewed as a trap game similarly to how Week 1 ended, the Colts should be winners in this game. Even without Anthony Castonzo and some key players in the secondary, Indy should be leading this from the start.

The Jaguars will be without both James Robinson and D.J. Chark, who are the heart and soul of the offense. The Colts should have no trouble shutting down the Jaguars offense while the Colts offense has a stellar matchup.

The Colts will be keeping an eye on the scoreboard in hopes of a wild-card team (or the Titans) losing their game on Sunday. But the odds are the Colts finish the season at 11-5.

Sam Sinclair (@samsinclair96): Colts 31, Jaguars 14

The Indianapolis Colts finish their regular season against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday in Indianapolis. For most teams, a 10-5 record would have them squarely in the playoff race, but the Colts will need some outside help to be playing in January.

An Indianapolis win plus either a Titans, Browns, Ravens, or Dolphins loss secure the Colts a win. Thankfully, the Browns, Ravens and Dolphins play at 1 p.m. so the Colts will know their fate by kickoff.

The Colts should win this game, but fans and players will need to keep their eyes on the league scoreboard to see if this Sunday is their last game.
