Colts’ updated draft order following compensatory picks

The Indianapolis Colts didn’t receive any compensatory picks for the 2021 NFL draft, but their order of selections was impacted by the new picks arriving for other teams.

Now, we know exactly where the Colts will be picking, barring any changes, when the draft arrives in late April.

Here’s a look at the Colts’ updated draft pick order for the 2021 NFL draft:

  • Round 1: No. 21 overall
  • Round 2: No. 54 overall
  • Round 4: No. 127 overall
  • Round 5: No. 165 overall
  • Round 6: No. 204 overall
  • Round 7: No. 247 overall

The Colts have their regular allotment of picks outside of the third-round pick they sent to the Philadelphia Eagles as a part of the trade for quarterback Carson Wentz. That deal becomes official on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. ET.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Chris Ballard move back in the first round to get another third-round pick in the draft seeing as how much he likes picks.

But now we have a clear picture of what the path looks like for Ballard and his number of picks in April.
