Colts’ updated draft order after losing conditional pick

The Indianapolis Colts had to give one of their expected picks in the 2020 NFL draft back to the New York Jets from the August trade that included sending cornerback Nate Hairston to East Rutherford.

It was first reported by Brian Costello of the New York Post that the sixth-round conditional pick would be given back to the Jets and has been confirmed by Joel A. Erickson of the Indianapolis Star.

Now that the Colts have eight selections instead of nine, here’s a quick look at the updated draft order for Indy as it stands:

  • First round | No. 13 overall
  • Second round | No. 34 overall | From Washington
  • Second round | No. 44 overall
  • Third round | No. 75 overall
  • Fourth round | No. 112 overall
  • Fifth round | No. 143 overall
  • Sixth round | No. 173 overall
  • Seventh round | No. 205 overall

So nothing really changes except the Colts now don’t have the additional sixth-round pick.

This order is going to change again, at least with the third round and beyond. The compensatory picks are expected to be announced soon, as early as Friday, which means the Colts are likely going to see a major change with their draft order after the third round.

We will update the list when that is announced, but this is what the Colts’ draft order looks like after losing the conditional pick from the trade with the Jets.
