With the New York Jets revealing their new uniforms, there has been some small discussion about which uniforms might be the best around the NFL. The Indianapolis Colts have been known to keep their uniforms traditional over the years.
Not much has changed with the Colts’ uniforms, and it is likely that there won’t be change coming in the near future. Playing off tradition, the Colts’ uniforms were ranked 10th-best in the league by Nate Davis of USA TODAY.
10. Indianapolis Colts: I’m partial because my dad raves about his old Johnny Unitas helmet. But the simplicity — rarely altered, notwithstanding that smattering of silver in the ’80s — still resonates down to the horseshoe.
There hasn’t been many calls for the Colts to change what they’ve been wearing on the field. The simple white and blue look is still stylish while paying tribute to tradition.
Some have wondered if the Colts would eventually bring back the blue facemasks, possibly for a throwback game, which would look slick with the white helmets.
Regardless, the Colts don’t appear to have any plans to change their uniforms anytime soon, and nor should they have any reason to.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
