Colts’ Andrew Luck not practicing due to calf injury

Editor’s note: An earlier version of this post said Andrew Luck was getting a rest day, per George Bremer of The Herald Bulletin, but new information was made known that Luck is missing due to a calf related issue. The updated version can be read below.

The Indianapolis Colts begin their second week of training camp Tuesday morning, but they will be doing so without quarterback Andrew Luck, who is not practicing due to calf related reasons.

Following a day off on Monday, the team hits the practice field wearing shells, shorts and helmets. The Colts have been super cautious about Luck’s workload to begin training camp as he’s only participated in individual drills and a handful of team drills (7-on-7 only).

The Colts have maintained that Luck’s schedule will be limited to begin training camp for the first week or so, but this appears to be related to an injury or potential setback with the calf that kept him out of the spring practices.

Luck will address the media and likely giving more information following Tuesday’s practice.

In related news, rookie wide receiver Parris Campbell doesn’t appear to be practicing Tuesday either after he suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday’s practice.

The Colts begin their second training camp week at the Grand Park Sports Complex in Westfield with three straight practices before another day off on Friday.
