The Indianapolis Colts are changing things up for their Week 8 home matchup against the Denver Broncos, opting to go with the all-blue “Color Rush” uniforms.
It isn’t clear if the Broncos are the reason why, but this is the second time in three seasons that the Colts are going with the “Color Rush” uniform against Denver.
The Colts wore the “Color Rush” uniforms in a 2017 home matchup against the Broncos, which resulted in a Week 15 loss to Brock Osweiler. Yeah, we won’t bring that up again.
The Colts also wore the all-blue uniforms in Week 10 of the 2018 season when they hosted the Miami Dolphins.
The NFL discontinued the “Color Rush” promotion, which was heavily tied to Thursday night games, ahead of last season. The Colts are one of several teams that continue to don those alternate jerseys. Teams can wear alternate uniforms up to three times per season.
The Colts are in first place in the AFC South and are facing a stretch of games that could vault them into one of the top four seeds in the AFC playoffs if all goes right.
